I’m always the one with the camera at parties…

My love for photography was born out of a near miss with a Fine Art Painting Degree at KIAD Canterbury (long story!) and I haven’t looked back ever since.

I graduated with a BA Hons in Photography from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2001 and thankfully I was one of the last batch of students to graduate from an ‘all film’ photography degree (i.e. we hadn’t really started using digital camera’s yet!).

In the years to follow I exhibited my work in Manchester, London and New York and since returning to Scotland to live in 2005 I have worked for The Skinny, DF Concerts (T in the Park/Connect Music Festival), XFM and various Scottish Newspapers.

Mostly due to requests by friends to photograph their ‘big day’ I have recently begun to focus on wedding photography. I didn’t realise just how much I’d enjoy being part of someone’s wedding day.

I’m always behind a camera, very rarely in front (a ‘proper’ self-portrait is one of my goals for 2011) and I’m happiest when wondering aimlessly around a foreign city and viewing it from behind the lens.

I still take the opportunity whenever I can to update my portfolio with fashion, music and other interesting images. View other work in my portfolio here.

A few of my favourite things…
My husband and his fabulous cooking…my gorgeous nephews and nieces…my new camera/my old cameras…visiting new countries (even though I hate flying)…visiting my best friends who live too far away…days and nights spent eating and drinking round our kitchen table…my disco shoes that I never wear…homemade macaroni cheese served up with a glass of red…cocktails (of any kind)…road trips to the seaside…buying second-hand frames…chocolate torte (the more bitter the better)…over-sized bags (think Mary Poppins)…red lipstick.
