What if we aren’t having a ‘traditional’ wedding?
WOW! Great! I’m always looking to photograph something a little different, so don’t be shy, get in touch and tell me your plans!
You are based in Scotland… but do you travel?
Well of course! I’ve previously shot weddings in Devon, London… and soon Brazil. No location is out of reach. Please contact me for a quotation.
Do we get digital copies of our wedding images?
Yes. You will receive a DVD with digital copies of your images; high resolution versions for printing and low resolution versions for emailing. You will also have standard printing rights, which allows you to print your images whatever size you want, as many times as you wish! I do, however, retain the copyright, which means you are unable to sell your images on, or modify them in anyway… if you have any questions in relation to this, just get in touch!
How soon after our wedding will we receive our images?
I aim to process your images within 6 weeks of your wedding day and they will be uploaded to your private password protected online gallery. Your DVD will then be sent out after your have viewed your images. This does not include any prints and wedding books which can sometimes take a little longer.
How long will we have access to our private online gallery?
Your password protected online gallery will expire 6 months after your wedding day.
Can we order prints through you?
Friends, family and guests can order and pay for prints direct through the password protected online gallery. Print prices start from £5.50 per print and all prints are printed by a professional colour lab. Should you wish to order a number of prints, please email me direct as I may be able to offer you a print package discount.
What do you do with our images after our big day?
Your images are backed up twice over and stored away for 12 months after your wedding date. I will always try to write a feature in my blog about your big day and I may use your images to promote my work, so you could be the star on my website pretty soon!
Will I need to sign a contract?
Yes. I ask all clients to sign a contract, but don’t worry it’s nothing scary and just standard procedure. The small print isn’t too small and there’s not a lot of it. I’ve tried to make my booking form as clear and concise as possible, but if anything isn’t clear, or you are concerned about anything, please do get in touch.
Will I need to pay a deposit?
I ask all couples to pay a ‘hold the date’ deposit which is £400 for full-day packages and £250 for half-day packages.
Do you do group shots?
I do, however I try to keep these to a minimum. This is to allow you to get back to enjoying your day (and not get sore cheeks from keeping your smile going!). I normally recommend no longer than 20 minutes for group shots, which is about 12 groups (depending on numbers) but I can advise you on this before your day. If you want group shots always ensure you build in time for these in your schedule.
We just want natural shots, do I have to pose with my partner for some photos, I hate getting my photo taken!
It’s always good to get some beautiful shots of just you and your new husband/wife on the day of your wedding. You may not want them, but you’ll be surprised at how many other people do! And although you may not like the idea of doing them, it’s actually a lovely time in the day to get away from your guests and relax a little and take stock of your wedding day so far. I always encourage couples to keep talking throughout our photo session and I would never put you in any awkward position that doesn’t look or feel right to you, in fact I like to keep them as natural as possible giving you only a little direction to help make the perfect portrait. You might even end up enjoying it… most couples do!
We’re not sure if we want an album just yet…
That’s totally fine. I keep your images on file for up to 12 months after your wedding day so you can come back to me at any point until then to select your images and order your album.
I’d like an album for my parents but not the same as ours, can you do that?
Yes. I can individually design smaller ‘parent’ albums if you require them. Please contact me for prices.
I need more than one copy of our DVD for family/friends
I’m more than happy to create copies of your DVD for families or friends for £50 per DVD.
We’ve seen other wedding photographers have 2 photographers on the day, do you work with another photographer on the day?
On your wedding day there will be me and my cameras! When you book Lisa Devine Photography, that’s who you get. I don’t feel the need to have another person with me at the moment as I manage to shoot everything I need to on the day without any stress. All images on this website were taken by me and I feel if you pay for me you should get me! That’s not to say that if you were having a particularly large wedding, or there was lots of stuff going on that I wouldn’t consider bringing a second shooter with me, however this would be agreed in advance. Should you feel the need for two photographers please discuss this with me.
How do I book you?
Feel free to email me or fill out the contact form on my website to check my availability. I try and speak with all prospective clients before booking is confirmed, to ensure you are happy that I am the right person to photograph your big day! I’ll then send you out your contract and booking form to complete which you return to me along with your deposit to secure your date.
